People always summized how you got your nickname... but here is the real story.
When I was pregnant with you, your dad and I used to frequent Filly's Bar. We wanted to get out and do something so we went there to dance and meet friends. As soon as I walked in, the cocktail waitress would bring me a pitcher of ice water with lemon. I would have so much fun! The music was loud and I would dance with everyone in the bar! When that loud music played you were very active in my belly.
After you were born, I noticed that whenever you heard music you would wiggly around. I laughed so hard and started calling you my "Boogie Woogie Baby!" In time it was shortened to Boog.
The funny thing? As an adult you always used music to soothe you...
My sweet cousin Leonard JR., I will always remember you texting me on facebook every so often to ask for my number because you changed phones, AGAIN. LOL! I remember getting in trouble for someone speeding through the neighborhood and you driving on my lawn. She thought it was my boyfriend, but it was you. You were always a little wild, but you were always REAL and one of the most kind hearted Man that I have ever known! Your smile and always made me smile and your sadness always made me hurt. Through all your trials, you kept on moving forward with a positive attitude, knowing you couldn't change certain things about life, so you just went with it. I will alwyas admire the strength you had and the love you have shown to me and the rest of your family and friends. well Leonard I don’t even know where to begin with all the memories we have! But that’s a good thing! Well I remember me and don both met you from your sister gosh like 7 years ago!! And from there it was on
I wasn't around Leonard a whole lot. But the best memory that I do have of him was when he came into the business that I work at, just a few days before he was no longer with us.He had came in to tell me that for the first time in a very long time, that he felt good about himself. He was all puffed up like a banty rooster and had a smile from ear to ear. He was exuberant about what he was doing!! There were alot of other times that he made me laugh just because of his silliness... I love that about him!!
I remember the day you were born! We had two girls and wanted a boy. You were it because I was getting my tubes tied right after you were born. I had to have a c-section because of a previous one. When they got you out I made them show you to me to make sure you were really my baby boy!! And there you were! We were so excited and proud of you, sweetheart! So happy to have a beautiful boy join our family. That was one of the best days of my life!!
